Bengaluru Experiences Early Winter Chill as Cold Wave Hits Karnataka

Karnataka is feeling the winter vibes a little early this year, with temperatures dipping significantly across the state. Bengaluru, in particular, is witnessing crisp, chilly mornings as minimum temperatures fall below normal, signaling the onset of early winter conditions, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Temperatures Dip Across Karnataka

The IMD’s latest bulletin highlighted a noticeable drop in minimum temperatures, especially over South Interior Karnataka. Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) recorded a minimum temperature of 16.6 degrees Celsius, about 1 degree below normal. The cooler mornings have brought a refreshing change, typical of Bengaluru’s winter transition.

Belagavi saw the coldest plains temperature at 11.2 degrees Celsius, marking the early onset of chilly conditions in parts of the state. Other districts, including Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, and Kalaburagi, are also experiencing below-normal minimums.

Cold Wave Conditions to Persist

According to the IMD, cold wave conditions are likely to continue over these districts for the next three to four days. Minimum temperatures in isolated areas may remain 2–3 degrees Celsius below normal, making mornings especially brisk.

Despite the chill, the weather is expected to remain dry across Coastal, North Interior, and South Interior Karnataka, offering clear skies and pleasant days.

Bengaluru Weather Forecast

For Bengaluru city and its surrounding areas, residents can expect clear skies over the next couple of days. Misty conditions are predicted during early morning hours, with temperatures hovering around 17 degrees Celsius for minimums and 29 degrees Celsius for maximums.
