In Bengaluru the city police recently broke up a drug operation. They. Took away about 17 kilograms of MDMA, which is worth a lot of money nearly ₹17 crore. The police also arrested eight people, including a woman from Delhi and three people from countries. This shows that there was a network of people selling drugs in many states.
The police told everyone about the arrests on Thursday, May 21 2026. They had been investigating for a while since they got some information earlier in the month. The police at Hebbal Police Station in Bengaluru heard that some people were selling drugs near an apartment complex in Unnathi Layout in Anandnagar.
The police watched these people. Then stopped three of them who were trying to sell banned drugs from a car near the apartments. The police found over four kilograms of MDMA some mobile phones and a car that they think was used for selling drugs.
When the police asked the people they arrested some questions they found out that the drugs were coming from India and were being sold in Bengaluru by a network of people. The police think that a 50-year-old woman from Delhi was in charge of getting the drugs and moving them around. They also arrested people from Delhi, Karnataka and three people from countries who they think were helping to transport and sell the drugs.
As the police kept investigating they did raids in Delhi, Haryana and Karnataka. They found MDMA in many places connected to the people they arrested. In total the police found about 17 kilograms of MDMA.
The police in Bengaluru are very happy about this operation. They think it is one of the drug crackdowns in the city in a long time. The police also took away some cars and electronic devices that they think were used for activities. Now they are looking at phone records and bank transactions to see if they can find people who were involved in the network.
MDMA, also known as ecstasy is a drug that is not allowed in India. The police over the country are trying to stop people from selling drugs because they are worried, about how many drugs are being sold and moved around.
The police are still trying to find people who might be involved in the network. They are also trying to see if this operation is connected to international drug networks.
These arrests show that the Bengaluru Police are working hard to stop drugs from being sold in the city and the surrounding areas. They are doing a job of making the city a safer place.
